Because only fans who are ignorant to reality would even consider that fight. Sergio would destroy margo. The man was beaten to a pulp in 2 out of 3 fights since he was caught cheating. Just because manny fought him doesn't mean he is still great. He is way past his prime.

Paul Williams beat Antonio Margarito when Margarito was on a long winning streak. Miguel Cotto didn't even want to fight Paul Williams for his WBO title but instead waiting till Paul moved up in weight and vacated the title. Paul was looking for a fight at 147 and that's when Cotto fought Jennings for it. Mosley said that he didn't want to fight Paul Williams and so did Pac. That makes Martinez's KO win over Paul Williams that much more impressive also considering Team Williams asked it to be at a catchweight to take something out of Sergio because he just fought Pavlik at MW. Martinez should be over Pac. Since Marquez, who has Pac beat that was highly regarded as a top fighter at time?

Regardless, if that is the case, why did Puga say that Pac/Martinez fight would be a 50/50 chance of being made then? That came from a Pac fans mouth. Shouldn't he know that too? Especially if he is trying so hard to sell us that Pac actually would fight Martinez. Pac had no reason to be in the higher weights, fighting a disgraced unranked fighter for a 154LB title at a 150LB catchweight. He didn't even intend on defending it but rather wanted it for his 8th title? He didn't win it from a champion.

No need to hate on Sergio. I'd expect Arum to make this fight happen
for his son Antonio. Good opportunity for Sergio to avenge his loss to
Marg. I'd be curious to see how Sergio would handle a shot Margarito.

Martinez at this point will beat Margo easy at this point of their careers. Martinez's opinion is like any other fan opinion, it doesn't hold no weight. Based on peformance of his last fight regardless on how ppl want to downplay he is the #3 fighter P4P.

At 154 to 160 I would have Martinez as a favorite to win
