this probably is the wrong thread to post this in but, and i say this as a fan of floyd mayweather... and i find bob arum de****able, there's a reason why Mayweather left Top Rank and promotes himself

it's so he can choose the fights for himself

just my opinion

I despise Bob Arum and he is indeed a scumbag however he is a master at promoting. The thing is I think Mayweather would have left any promoter at the time he did because he likes to call the shots and he has earned the right to do so. However, I am not sure another promoter (except for maybe Don King) could have got him the exposure needed to become as popular as he did. Arum also did wonders for ODLH as well, and he was able to leave and become bigger than ever as well. And now Pacquiao has become a huge attraction as well. Do you see a pattern here? It's no wonder fighters continue to sign with him...

And that's why in the world of promoters he is on the outside looking in, and definitely way behind Arum and GBP (and in his heyday, Don King, who has probably slowed down due to age)...
