Muhammad Ali vs. George Foreman: Don't Believe the Hype

The story goes that Ali went to the ropes and took this dreadful beating, and then Foreman tired, and then Ali took over. Just one of many boxing myths. Yes, Ali took some very hard shots to the body, but was doing plenty of scoring himself. Ali started landing clean shots to the head as soon as he started going to the ropes (and even before that in round 1). He would catch Foreman repeatedly with clean straight shots and Foreman would keep making the same mistakes.

Basically, Ali just schooled Foreman off the ropes. Almost all of the fight's clean shots to the head were landed by Ali. Ali owned Foreman, who fought like a caveman.
