How Is Rios Still Making Lightweight?

His last fight wasn't even at LW. In his last fight he failed to make 139 three times and had to pay a penalty. On fight night he was 157

I don't know how his camp is going but seems like he will need a lot of discipline to just make the weight.........

Didn't Rios' camp already say they plan to move Rios up in weight soon? I think they said something like IF he beats Miguel Acosta then he'll probly defend the belt a couple times then go up to 140.

You are right. I was just reading up on this right now and that is what I found out as well. But still, to me it seems his days 135 are numbered. 1 or 2 more fights at the weight and then move up to 140 seems likely.

I wonder the same about his nemesis Victor Ortiz. Rios is way too big for 135, and Ortiz is too big for 140.

He had 3 weeks left to make weight for his fight dec 5.But they offered him
a spot on the manny card, and he took it thinking he would make weight.
I think he was a pound off anyway. No biggie

I think I read something like that too. And I'm pretty sure I saw a video where Mikey Garcia said Rios is only going to be at 135 for a few more fights then they plan to move him up to 140.

I think that would be a great move. Rios-Maidana later this year would be a war
