people say this kind of garbage all the time. its always wrong.

Where will boxing be without Ali? poof, Ray Leonard.
Oh no Leonard is retired! omg Mike Tyson!
boxing is done without Tyson....whats this, Oscar De La Hoya?

Pacquiao nor Mayweather started out as stars, they earn it over time.

as long as there are still great fighters out there, there will be great fights.

Pac is facing garbage opposition but your sig says 'War Cotto'? And you name Cotto twice as part of your possible 'superfights'?

The truth. As soon as one generation of fighters age, fade, retire, etc there's more talented hungry young guys just waiting for their chance. I could see guys like Khan, Benavidez, and a few others being the standard bearers in the future.

I don't mind that there is far less mega fights on the horizon as there once was.

My problem is the ones that are available are not happening. None of them are, and that is pathetic and kills the sport.

A few highlight videos and your average fan will be hyped for Wlad vs Haye.

And there is few sports fans in the world who don't want to see Pac vs Floyd.

In the rest of my lifetime there will never be the #1 and #2 p4p fighters, who happen to be the face of boxing and total opposites in style and personality. I will never get the opportunity to see a fight like this again. And this will be boxing's memory of my lifetime, that the best fight of my era didn't happen.

That is how boxing works, but the problem is the fan base is shrinking. The fighters people know don't fight often enough, and the the new breed fighters don't get a chance to shine.

Boxing biggest problem is that bloodsucking LEECH BOB ARUM......he has stood in the way of the superfight more than Floyd and Manny put together. He would rather face pac against shot fighters in his own camp (Top Rank) than make a fight with Floyd. PERIOD. When the old man takes a step back boxing will be in a better place. Same goes for Manny. He can make any fight he wants (barring Mayweather..lol) and he picks shot fighters.....pretty weak.

That is correct. He's so much better than them in terms of Resume.

in terms of Popularity Pac is 2nd only to Dela Hoya.

Isn't this what they always say about boxing as the biggest stars come close to the end of their runs. Then someone new pops up to capture the public imagination.

Maybe it will be different now who knows but boxing has been going on a long time like this.
