The WBA's featherweight champion in recess, Chris John (44-0-2, 22KOs), will not wait for Yuriorkis Gamboa. In the next few days, John plans to announce the date and opponent for his next fight. He will defend his title for the 14th time in Jakarta, Indonesia. John last fought in December and won an easy unanimous decision over Argentinian boxer Fernando David Saucedo.

People say John is protected and that is true because of the opponents that he's fought like this dude with only one KO, but people don't want to accept the fact that it could've been Gamboa that ducked him and not the other way around. I don't know who turned down who, but knowing Arum he probably didn't want to throw his boy in with John. Wouldn't suprise me a bit.

JOHN is a very good boxer,he is not protected at all!!
JOHN beat JM MARQUEZ in his prime in a very close fight but he beat him and he is the kind of men that give also rematch(not all boxers do it);JOHN gave the rematch to ROCKY JUAREZ after the DRAW and JOHN dominated JUAREZ with his skills;JOHN IS A GREAT BOXER............WATCH HIS FIGHTS!!!!!!!!!

John is a good boxer. But the Marquez fight was 4 1/2 years ago. His best fight since then was Juarez, who had lost FOUR PREVIOUS TITLE FIGHTS and didn't deserve another. I don't really care who is dodging who, all of these bullcrap fights make it look like John is the one avoiding a real opponent real opponent, whether it's true or not.

it's to their mutual benefit if john and gamboa don't fight. john and gamboa can keep fighting bums and collecting easy paydays. both parties are happy and everyone wins!(but the fans but who cares about those ****s)

John is a good fighter, but you're smoking crack if you think he 1. Beat Marquez and 2. The fight was close. Truth is Marquez was robbed and the fight wasnt even close. Fight should have been 8-4 period.
