World middleweight contender Daniel Geale (24-1, 15 KOs) scored his most impressive win in October 2010 when he dominated and stopped former world champion Roman Karmazin in twelve rounds in Sydney, Australia to become the IBF#1 middleweight contender and will now meet Sebastian Sylvester for the IBF 160 pound championship. Geale was very happy with this win but also says he has the skills to defeat the WBC champion Sergio Martinez.
“I beat Roman Karmazin who was one of the best in the middleweight division,” said Geale. “I have become a more rounded fighter and I am stronger with the great preparation I get from the Grange Gym and trainer Graham Shaw. Martinez is the guy I would love to come up against. My style has been compared to his and we box very similar – only he is a southpaw.”
Geale concluded, “I am sure I could take it to Martinez and take his titles off him. The champions are wary of this little guy from Australia and I want the chance to shock them all.”
