Another misleading thread title. It's not what the article is saying.

Larry Holmes vs Ali All Over Again!

Klitschko has it right. Holyfield has NO business in the ring with him. Unless he can beat some of the divisions best, you can't give this broke fighter a title shot based on a name from 15 years ago. Evander is no George Foreman in that he can get you out with one big punch. Evander in the ring will get destroyed like Ali did against Holmes; a very sad night in Boxing.

Smart move considering all of the hate Holmes got for pummelling a shot Ali.

I don't understand, Holyfield is just as deserving as Samuel Peter, Hasim Rahman, John Ruiz, Ray Austin, Nicolai Valuev, Shannon Briggs and Kevin Johnson. All these guys turned in pathetic performances whether against Haye or either of the Klits but they still refuse to give Holyfield a shot even though you can argue he did better against Valuev than Haye did. And most likely this would be Vitali's biggest payday too. About 5 years ago, Holyfield offered Wlad Klit $20 million to fight him and it was Emanuel Steward who said no. I just don't get it. I mean, I want Holyfield to quit as much as the next guy but I don't have a right to make him. So, let him fight and that will be that...

Holmes didn't want to fight Ali, he was his idol and chief sparring partner late in Ali's career and knew that Ali was way past his prime and completely shot. However, the rumors state Holmes was threatened to have both his legs broken by Don King if he refused to take the fight. Holmes has reiterated this story many times and hates the fact that he had to put that beating on Ali...

What, like Briggs and Sosnowski ?

It would be reasonably easy to blast Vit for that comment, but come on, Holyfield would have little chance of winning that fight, and I certainly don't wanna see it.
Briggs was ranked No. 8 by the WBC before this fight.

Holyfield is so far gone it's pathetic, first off he would take the beating of his life, which would turn him into the vegetable state Ali is in. But chances are this will happen anyway because he will not stop fighting unless they just don't let him anymore which will never happen. A fallen warrior Holyfield is.

The real question here should be: Why is Holyfield still broke after earning almost $600 million throughout his career?

Older brother Vitali doesn't care about the $20 million dollars. He says the money is secondary in this situation. If Holyfield builds up his status and applies himself to obtain a high WBC ranking, only then will Vitali consider such a fight.

You just don't put in an old dog with a much younger one , no matter how loud he barks . Your old dog will be your old dead dog , can't even use him for siring pups after that ?
