Comments Thread For: Zbik: Dzinziruk Has a Shot To Beat Sergio Martinez

WBC middleweight champion Sebastian Zbik (30-0, 10 KOs) still can not understand why Sergio Martinez (46-2-2, 25 KOs) made a decision to fight Sergei Dzinziruk (37-0, 23 KOs) when he knew that this decision would cost him the prestigious WBC title. According to Zbik, Dzinziruk will provide Martinez with a much tougher fight than anyone might expect on March 12.

Dzinziruk is a very good fighter, but he doesn't have much in his arsenal other than his great jab. I don't see his jab being enough to beat a fighter as good as Martinez though.

He's appeared to have slowed down a bit too, but could be from inactivity. Anyways fight will still be close and he can win. Watch Martinez-Cintron again and you'll see why fight will be close

A great jab is all it takes to beat any fighter.

I have said this before, Sergio is flashy and a good fighter but he has some serious flaws dont be surprised if he gets upset.

Martinez is overhyped!! not taking away anything from his last 2 wins. But he beat 2 overhyped fighter! Outside of his 1st fight w williams, Martinez was still outside the radar. Hes good, hes not great!! Let him beat a good MW convincingly and all that might change. Wheres JTaylor at when you need him?? anyways hes got some pretty good opponents in front of him. But Dont Expect to see ANYMORE KO THE YEARS out of him.

            Martinez is a great fighter

Contrary to what has been said, I think Maravilla is a great boxer and a late bloomer. You think Pacquaio has a chance against this guy? No way!

I'd pick Dzinziruk over anybody at 154.

However he has no chance against Martinez, in fact he'll be stopped.

It's partly because Martinez is a very good fighter, and it's partly because Dzinziruk is moving and fighting at a heavier weight than he ever has before. Another reason is his inactivity - he's had just one fight in nearly 3 years.

Prediction: Martinez by 10th round TKO.

Martinez is hyped for a reason, as he's done more than enough to warrant such attention, and not just in the last two years. It's takes more than just a good boxer to beat the fighters he has and accomplish those achievements, the man's a World class boxer, and you'd be a fool to try and say otherwise!
As for Jermain Taylor, now he's the very definition of an over hyped fighter, who was gifted two questionable decisions against Hopkins and achieved very little after that. Sergio would toy with Taylor, waiting for his inevitable stamina problem to appear (which was all too common an occurrence throughout his career), winning the latter half of the fight comfortably.

Exactly, Pacquiao would stand no chance!
