I don't think he could really hurt calzaghe that badly. It's a close fight, i'd lean in favour of calzaghe but ward genuinely impresses me.

it would boil down to confidense, Calzaghe doesnt have the power to keep ward off him, so calzaghe's strategy would have to be on point, I think calzaghe has the faster hands/punch output / and punch selection. Ward has youth / can make round by round adjustments / olympic gold medal pedigree. the deciding factor may only be confidence - its well documented about calzaghe's reluctance to take big fights, and ward is brimming with confidence - thats about it, because you cant say calzaghe has the better resume' (jones 39 - hopkins 44 ?) so its pretty even, calzaghe would have to sit on his punches more to keep ward from mauling him(that is his style of choice) and how calzaghe puches - its effective but still amatuerish(not dissing him) and you know what type of amatuer pedigree ward has if he is a gold medalist !
