An amateur that won the fight and damn near chased Oscar out of the ring.Oscar never wanted a rematch that's for sure.I think a prime Trinidad KOs Floyd. Trinidad's left hook was harder and faster than any punch Mosley throws. Trinidad was an undefeated champion from age 20 untill age 30. He won 20 tittle fights in a row in three weight classes,16 by KO.If he wants to give Cotto advice he is well qualified. He was only stopped once by Hopkins in a long career of fighting the hardest punchers, guys that hit alot harder than Floyd. As for Floyd KOing Felix, that's impossible. Floyd's only chance of winning would be on points with very careful boxing. If he slugs it out with Trinidad he's dead. I don't think Trinidad should be compared with Gatti or Corrales because he is on a much higher level.That's just my 2nd opinion.

I think trinidad is right - can't see cotto having a chance of out boxing him on the outside. Thing is floyd is also really good on the inside, but i reckon the way to beat him is simply roughing him up in close, hit him on arms shoulders elbows whatever - marciano style. Rocky beat far more skillful fighters than himself simply by staying right up in their faces and just pounding on whatever he could hit. Just keep landing leather on flesh, keep hitting those biceps/shoulders and you will take away floyd's power for the later rounds, you'll wear him down. Floyd also seems alot more static in his last few fights so he is going to be there to be hit. Cotto will have to take a mountain of punishment but if he's in supreme condition and can stay right up in floyd's face castillo style he has a chance. I think this fight depends on what sort of cotto turns up if its the best cotto then we could be in for a great fight, anything else and floyd will handle him pretty easily.

Trinidad thinks he has the remedy to beat Mayweather “He should stay toe to toe with Mayweather”

“He should stay toe to toe with Mayweather, round-by-round, close to Mayweather like all Puerto Ricans know how to do,” said Trinidad during an interview with Puerto Rico’s El Nuevo Dia newspaper. “Put all his heart in and stay toe-to-toe. Try to look for a good shot and soften him little by little.”

Cotto (37-2, 30 knockouts) is facing Mayweather (42-0, 26 KOs) who on May 8th will look to claim a second title at 154lb and become an 8 time world champion, Trinidad said Cotto will need to be fast enough to overcome Mayweather’s speed and upper body movement.

“It is going to be very difficult for Cotto,” said Trinidad. “Because the other guy has the physical conditioning, the intelligence, doesn’t take many shots and is very elusive. Cotto can win, but it’s not going to be easy.”
