It could be kind of like that but not like most think~ and the result would be rather different.

Cotto ends up retreating while Floyd chases him down~ Floyd probably ends up doing a better job than Hagler because Cotto is no Sugar Ray at moving and Cotto won't be moving as the main plan it will be what he falls back to.

It is probably closer to what people thought Hagler was going to do to Leonard, not the actual fight.

I think everyone is too quick to rag the TS. It is similar in that Cotto has wanted to fight Mayweather for a while and they are meeting later on in their careers. Outside that cant think of much else. Floyd definitely wont be throwing weak flurries and runnin like SRL.

hagler was the legit middleweight champ who took on all comers for 7 years; cotto is a paper champ in a catchweight division who has been fighting soft opposition.

leonard was aleady an all time great who beat other greats in their primes like benitzez, duran, and hearns, floyd is...........undefeated.

Seems like a good reference point for this upcoming fight. Obviously not exactly alike, since no one has Hagler's chin, but it seems like the matchup is reminiscent of Leonard and Hagler. Thoughts?

Poor reference point IMO.
Neither has even close to the resumes compare to Leonard and Hagler.
