The impression I got was that Roach is hoping for a Cotto victory to avoid a match with Mayweather. If Mayweather loses they will not have to deal with as much pressure to fight him.

The article implied that Roach is hoping for a Cotto rematch.

Roach knows that he hasn't figured out a game plan to beat Mayweather and he understands that Pac will never convincingly beat a defensive fighter like JMM let alone a much more superior fighter like Mayweather.

I think he's more or less saying Bradley is not that good of a fighter and that Cotto is much better than people think, more specifically, better than Bradley.

Miguel Cotto chose 65/35 split and atleast $30 Million total after the PPV and Gate totals will tally in. It will be the most Cotto has ever made in a fight. We know that Cotto received $6 Million guaranteed purse against Manny Pacquiao but we don't know what his upside was. It could not have been that much because Toprank and MP Promotions got a nice share of the PPV and Gate.

It was a no brainer WHY Cotto chose Mayweather. Number 1 he wants to be the first fighter to dethrone the P4P King. Number 2 he will be making his biggest purse to date. Number 3 he did not want to weight drain himself again to fight Pacquiao. In the "147lb" welterweight showdown, Cotto had to come in "under" the weight limit and drain himself down to 145lbs. Even though Pacquiao wanted him at 147lbs this time, Cotto will not risk his health again.

I said in a post a few days ago that Manny Pacquaio will be shocked and very angry when he finds out that Cotto will make more money fighting Mayweather than Pac will make fighting Bradley (and, it appears, any other fighter Pac has fought in his entire career). If this story is true (and you always have to qualify anything that appears on the internet based on inside sources with IF) I can't wait to see the spinmeister, Bob Arum, and the puppet, Michael Koncz's reaction to this story; not to mention all the crap I will see from the Pac worshippers claiming this is a lie and that Pac actually did make $22 million in his last fight against Marquez.

Nah I dont think its good bro , it really makes Pac look like a first class soft **** , Manny had Cotto his first choice and really wanted the rematch , but a strange thing happened , Cotto is not under a Top Rank contract now , so he dont have to take Pac BS catch weights , so , noiw how is this for major WOW , Cotto told Manny to stick his weight draining catch weight right up his water tight little clacker ,,,, and here is the best bit , Pac ran away looking for 140 pounders ,,, fancy that eh ,,, and Floyd comes along and says no problems Cotto I fight at your comfortable weight where you feel best .

16,000 seat(MGM) of $1000 ea = 16 mil

88 million total gross....how about the government tax, hbo cut, promotional expenses, etc....

bro... u think thats the only way they make revenue???? you are leaving a lot of aspects out that draw money to the same bucket.. just in ads & sponsorship besides what the MGM pays to host the card..... the rooms that are filled the money those ppl spend on fight night... etc.. etc etc.... I would double that add at least another 35ml easyy....... besides that I believe they would do way more than 16 mil on the gate...


still damn 30 millions is way way to much of what I have expected.... mayweather really wanted to lock the best draw for him besides manny for may 5. manny can pick and fight whoever he wants right now and May vs Cotto will be more lucrative than any other fight right now which at the end is what mayweather wants...

bro, thats is the main ways of making money...sales rvenue and ppv sales...the others ways wont even cover the 40% corporate taxes that the government is going to get....so you do the math , the numbers aint possible no matter what....

i hope cotto makes that much for he's a good guy and a warrior but it's just not beleivable man, it's not...
