but the problem is that his former style would probably be best against Floyd. If he starts moving now after being hit, that will just play more into Floyd's hands

Sure it might have won him a couple more rounds against Floyd back in his heyday but overall it's a much better style suited to longevity, like Barrera did back in the day after the Hamed fight.
