  • He definitely looked nervous. Not sure what about Cotto makes him nervous.

When I see Cotto I see the picture of weakness and surrender. He's like a Puerto Rican Frenchman, if such a thing existed.

    • Completely agreed. There's one thing Floyd knows about Cotto: he walked the walk and fought everybody, a true professional boxer. No matter how tough it looked, Cotto did it - something Floyd has avoided for a long time. Cotto faced Pacquiao when he was on top, as well as Margarito. He even rematched Margarito after being completely demolished in their first fight. Cotto has been hurt badly and been able to come back. Floyd doesn't understand this kind of nature, strange to his own, and it scares him deep inside. He is nervous around him and it shows.

I still think Floyd will win on points.

Just like you missed Floyd fighting them, except for Hatton. Instead Cotto fought Pacquiao and Margarito

Well put...I don't agree with Floyd avoiding this and that, but not here to argue all that. I love matchups like this because they're big names and they have a ton of championship experience

Cotto has played a part in so many great fights there is no doubt that he will make this one with Floyd eventful. While Cotto has taken his damage over the years...you still don't always come out of a fight with a guy like Cotto the same yourself.

                  • Floyd was flat out scared during face off and it was obvious to see. The fact that he cared more about the score of some basketball game instead of a guy who is looking to break his face and ribs in tells you all you need to know.

You think on May 5th floyd can call time out to the ref and run over to ellerbe to check his scores on a ipad? GTFOH with that bull****

Floyd was trying everything in the book to avoid thinking about the beatdown Cotto is gonna put on that ass

                    • Floyd didn't intend to pick Cotto. He did it out of spite for Arum and thought this is his chance to get back at the old man. He had to make a quick, unplanned decision. Truth of the matter was, Cotto/Pac 2 would not have happened, anyway. Fans, which included Pac fans, were strongly against a Pac/Cotto rematch. Obviously, Arum began to be aware of the opposition to it and started negotiating with Bradley.

In short, Floyd picked Cotto at the last minute with a heavy heart.

Canelo is really the easier fight and the original Cinco de Mayo plan hatched by GBP/Floyd. I can imagine how GBP argued fiercely trying to convince Floyd to pick their boy, Alvarez, whom they've been trying to match with PBF for years. Hoya's silence on this Cotto fight has been deafening and uncharacteristic, if you haven't noticed.

Floyd could get hurt in this fight.
