It's a case of just being strong AND knowing how to use that strength.

This could prove to be an interesting dynamic in the pacquiao fight that pac fans like myself have not been plugging into the equation.
i agree with u that floyd size is severely underrated, i see floyd as a natural jr middleweight.

floyd definitely had underrated strength. he looked much stronger and bigger than shane in his last fight.

Would you guys say he is about 170 3 months plus after a fight ? maybe 165?

Floyd Jr walks around at 156 pounds. Source is his Uncle Jeff from an interview.

if you look at floyds older fights he doesn't look that strong or big, look at him against shane and he looked like a tank....

Really good thread here and something that isn't talked about much. Mayweather's strength is actually something that I think will be a huge factor if he fights Pac. If you watch the Mosley, Judah, and Marquez fights he is literally moving forward the entire fight and at times completely bullying these guys around the ring. If they do fight Mayweather will be moving forward the entire time and focusing extensively on Pac's body in the early rounds (watch the Judah fight). Typically Pac deals very well with fighters who move forward, but Mayweather is a completely different type of fighter. He can move forward while still being difficult to hit and being an effective counter puncher, which not many fighters can do. Pac will have a difficult time throwing his multi punch combinations off of his back foot and because he will be getting countered heavily (as in the Marquez fight). Pac's biggest weapons are his speed and his punch volume (stamina). His speed is essentially matched by Mayweather's as is his stamina. What this really boils down to is a few things: They will be fighting at Mayweather's style/pace, Pac is an excellent offensive fighter and an average to below average defensive fighter, Mayweather is an excellent offensive fighter and an excellent defensive fighter. I think that's another thing most Pac fans don't factor into this fight..yes Pac is an offensive monster..but if guys like Clottey and Margs and Cotto can land extensive numbers of punches on him what is the most accurate puncher in Compubox history going to do to him? In the end Pac is dealing with a guy who is bigger, stronger, as fast, has as good conditioning, and is simply a better technical boxer. I just don't see how Pac wins this fight other than landing a bomb.

why does floyd NEVER WEIGH IN on fight night? that is what makes me think that he doesn't want people to know he really isn't relying just on his speed and skills. THE DUDE IS BIG! WHen he was fighting mosley, you can't tell me he was under 160 pounds in the ring.

and the marquez weight? If he only walked around at 156 pounds, he would have had NO PROBLEM making it to 144 or whatever. surely he values his money? right? he has said so himself that is the only reason he fights.

He looked bigger against JMM and ODLH than he did against SSM.
