By Eric Thomas: Former IBF light welterweight champion Paulie Malignaggi (28-4, 6 KO’s) was in the mood to pay former WBC light welterweight champion Devon Alexander (21-1, 13 KO’s) for some past comments that Alexander had made about Malignaggi when he was going through some hard times.
Malignaggi waited until Alexander was facing his own hardship after quitting in the 10th round against WBO light welterweight champion Timothy Bradley (27-0, 11 KO’s) last weekend.
Seeing Alexander pull a quit job, Malignaggi couldn’t resist firing some revenge comments, saying on his twitter “Another fighter had some poorly chosen words to say about me. I let him slide till now. It’s easy to cast judgments on other fighters when you aint never been tested. Saturday night your first time facing adversity you quit. Like the punk most of us suspected always were, remember something you don’t throw stones if you live in a glass house. Win or lose, you won; see me quit. I fight until the end. You can question my power, my attitude but you can’t question my heart. Man up, punk.”
Ouch! Malignaggi really unloaded both barrels on Alexander’s backside. Malignaggi really took off the gloves and smacked Alexander while he was down.
In other news, Malignaggi still won’t reveal who he plans on fighting next. He says he’s still working on it. Hopefully boxing fans will soon find out who it is.
