    Alexander is a disgrace.

Downloaded the fight to watch it again (yeah, I know) and ****.....the way DA quit was an absolute joke.

At the time, I was so numbed from the tedium of it all, the whole farce of the ending just typified things and so I found it comical, sending my friend (who had also stayed up to watch it and was sending me texts every 5 mins about how horrible the fight was) a text with "aaaaaarrgggggghhhhhhhhh ooooowwwwwwwwwww", as per DA's wailing.

But watching it again just removed the comedy aspect of it all. The guy just straight up quit in the most gutless way.

Now, I ain't one of these people who say who you die in the ring. Cotto taking a knee didn't offend me. I say; live to fight another day.

Even when Ortiz quit, I didn't castigate him cos he was getting the **** beat out of him and at least he didn't hide behind his actions.

Alexander's quitting was worse because of the phonyness of it all. This is a guy who takes punches to the head for a living and yet, was howling like a little girl to force a stoppage. The butt wasn't even over the already damaged eye.

The Doc clearly says that if he doesn't open both eyes, the fight is over. So what does DA do? His most primitive pained howl right after that statement.

And as some astute posters have already pointed out, his constant reflex to hold Tim after each punch was also a contributing factor to the butt. Watching the butt again - DA is also leaning in to grab Bradley.

This guy is a joke. The performance was horrid, especially after all the smack talking Team Alexander had done. But hey, I can excuse that; he is too green and probably not good enough.

But to try end the fight like that is unforgivable.

It reminds me of something Teddy Atlas says about how if you quit during adversity, it's actually much harder cos you have to live with the consequences in the long run. It's better to bite down and fight your way through it.

    Well, Alexander didn't want to.

I'll give him credit for maintaining the acting for a little while after it got called off.

By interview time, he was like....fu*ck it, I can't be bothered contorting my face like a ****** anymore. Also loved it when he "I'm upset" about it being called off. So heartfelt and genuine.

What's sad is that I wanted this kid to do well. Our sports needs young boxers to break through. I don't enjoy shi*ting on him like this but damn, he ****ed up big time on Saturday.
