  • Comments Thread For: Team Darchinyan: Abner Mares Rematch To Be Ordered

According to former champion Vic Darchinyan's manager, Elias Nassar, the WBC will order a rematch of Darchinyan and Abner Mares (21-0, 13KOs). They exchanged knockdowns in their December 11 bout before Mares took a close split decision in the semi-finals of Showtime's bantamweight tournament. Both Mares and Darchinyan (35-3, 27KOs) will return in separate fights on April 23. Mares faces IBF champion Joseph Agbeko in the tournament final and Darchinyan will clash in the co-feature with Yonnhy Perez.

Cool, was a good fight the first time. Be even better if Mares beats Agbeko.

For a tough guy, he sure cries a lot. He should have taken the fight out of the judges hands.

Great fight, I thought Mares won a close fight in which he certainly, repeatedly went low on Vic. I would like to see them both win and face off again. Although the both have all they want before that happens. Lots of great fights at 118 , perhaps best division in boxing right now.
