The Contender: Where are they now?

    theboxingempire.blogspot.com/2011/01/class-reunion-contender.html

With Sergio Mora and Brian Vera squaring off this Friday, we asked: Where are the Contender stars now?

How do you rate them? Will any make significant noise in 2011?

We think they rate in order of the following:

    5. Alfonso Gomez
    4. Ishe Smith
    3. Sergio Mora
    2. K9 Bundrage
    1. Troy Ross

why would you rate K9 and Troy over Sergio?

are you talking purely right now over the span of their careers?

K9 might not be great, he is pretty average actually but for what he has to work with he deserves plenty of credit in my view for being able to win a world title.

I'm not crapping on K9 I just think Mora overall has been the most successful.

I like K9 but Mora beat a better version of Forrest than K9 did of Cory Spinks

Fair enough point, he is more skilled but just awful to watch.

agreed but I have to give credit to a fighter whose only loss has been to Viper and held his own against an albeit past prime Shane.

You are right. Drummed those up real quick. Did so because K9 is current champ and Mora bores Us. Do you think Mora would beat Ishe in a 10 round rematch?

Also, I'd love to see a season 5 at Heavyweight.

Oh uea, I think Troy Ross will rise to be a top cruiserweight

I really miss the Contender. The original setup, I think it lost the flair when they got rid of Sugar Ray and Rocky.

I really miss the contender. They should do one every year, although the super 6 is good, too many problems have happened.
