Comments Thread For: Kubrat Pulev, Edmund Gerber Added To Herning Card

Sauerland Event have had some problems with their show in Herning, scheduled for Ferbuary 12, with both Rudy Markussen and Cecilia Braekhus off the bill but the replacements arenīt bad at all - itīs almost the other way around as undefeated Bulgarian heavyweight Kubrat Pulev, 10-0, steps in and takes on Yaroslav Zavorotny, who fought for the EBU title last year and also held the EE-EU crown. Pulev, who may have spent too much time in the amateurs, is ready for the bigger events already in 2011. Also on the bill is heavyweight Edmund Gerber 13-0, who faces Paul Butlin.

I've had high hopes for Pulev since he fought Matt Skelton after 4 fights. This is a decent stay busy fight for him, but a bit of a step down from the Guinn and Skelton type guys he's already been in there with. He's pushing 30, so they're pushing him along pretty fast. Look forward to seeing him in there with someone like Boytsov, Chisora, Arreola or Peter.

These guys are both too good for this kind of stay-busy opponent. I hate seeing promising fighters wasting their careers like this. They ought to be fighting each other or at least a gatekeeper.
