Hate to say it because I think he would have destroyed in any era, but Tyson had it easy. He came in strong when the division was a bunch of big named fighters that were aged and retired or about to retire.

His appeal to the unueducated boxing fan was an enormous string of early knockouts of nobodys and old men....

His Hayday pretty much ended with Razor Rud****. Two competitive hard fights then he went to jail. Never beat a good fighter after he came out...

They may have fought in a greater era,but Joe Frazier and George Foreman sure did avoid plenty of contenders during that era.They shouldn't be excused simply because they fought in the same division that Ali happened to be ruling at the time.
