Comments Thread For: Chavez Eyes Zbik, Cotto, Margarito, Sylvester Fights

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. was not pleased with last Saturday's performance against Billy Lyell before 12,000 of his hometown fans at the Stadium Dorados in Culiacan, Mexico. Chavez won a ten round unanimous decision. He partially blames his performance on inactivity after returning from a seven month layoff. Another partial problem is motivation. He says it's hard to get motivated in camp for these kind of opponents. The Mexican star is tired of facing tough opponents who carry very little name value and says his fans are getting tired too.

IMO....Chavez loses to all of the names he mentioned....Sylvester is the softest one...Zbik is not bad but he's extremly boring to watch...I'm sure he'll fight Zbik but that fight is a risky one

I give credit to everyone that laces up the gloves and fights "man to man" with any other person. But lets face it... when "all" your fights, are brilliantly made for you to come out victorious... well then I can't give as much credit. This is the case with JC, he is making a nice living out of his last name..... but the thing is that the kid is average in EVERY aspect and he will get hurt badly once he steps up in competition.

Regarding Saturday's fight.... Pedestrian! It was sickning to hear Marquez in his role as boxing comemetator find a thousand ways to praise JC's performace....... you could tell he was sick to the stomach and just wated to scream... "I can take this kid out myself"!

I don't think Top Rank or Roach can keep this kid from going undefeated once he steps with a legitimate 10 ranked fighter.

Nick Diaz (170WW) of Strikeforce has been claiming he wants to get into boxing. That'd be a decent opponent for Chaves since he's got a name, and his boxing isn't that good. Nice comfy fight with a decent pay check...I hear he's calling out Fernando Vargas, but Chaves could jump on it...

This chump is such a phony. I'm surprised that he still has some fans. Good luck fighting a top 10 fighter.

Jr. don't do it to yourself. You have enough money and family influence to choose another career path. There are at least 6 middleweights that will ko you and probably 10 that will beat you. No one believes you can be great anymore. Move on before your ortiz moment happens

Why is it that JC always has an excuse for his lousy performances? It really doesn't matter if he fights every month, he still wont look any better. Someone should really step up and tell this chump that he has no future. Just in case he reads this I will put it in Spanish. Julio, ya basta con engaņar a la gente. Tu no tienes futuro en pugilismo. Eres un peleador aburido y siempre tienes excusas para tus peleas mediocras. Por favor ya no tortures el nombre de tu padre porque el no se lo merece.
