that's the reason why heavyweights were a dying breed on USA.. they went to football and NBA instead of boxing.

Who cares? Manny Pacquiao, Miguel Cotto, Floyd Mayweather, and tons of other boxers fight in the United States and get a large chunk of their paycheck from US based boxing fans. All fighters are "america's" in most ways. Why does it matter where someone is born?
