    Pep-robinson

Pep and Robinson didn't SPAR... they fought each other for real in an amateur fight right here in CT back in the 30's and Robinson won a decision in a town called Hazzardville that is 15 minutes from me. Also, the SRR autoiography is definitely one of the best books I have ever read

From what I remember they sparred when they were kids Robinson was at Feather and Pep was at Flyweight, but if you say they had a real amature fight and it happend down the street from you we'll go with that.

The point is two of the greatest fighter of all time actually got in the ring together and threw.

When Sugar Ray Robinson first debut as a amateur..

            He was a flyweight...and he was 5'8!
His trainer always said he's to skinny and that he won't let him fight because he will get killed..

              Fight

Jose, trust me, it was a real fight that Robby and Pep had. Both guys talk about it in their autobiographies. Pep had a real good book called "FRIDAYS HEROES." The best boxing books I have read are: "THE BLACK LIGHTS" BY TOM HAUSER. "THE GREATEST" BY MUHAMMAD ALI, "FRIDAYS HEROS" By Willie Pep, "SUGAR RAY ROBINSONS AUTOBIOGRAPHY" AND A BOOK ON ALI CALLED "ALI AND ME, THROUGH THE ROPES." Anybody ever read that one?
