Why the Devon hate?

That's just how boxing casual fans are. Some fighters get crucified for certain circumstances while others are given a pass for theirs.
This is real talk here. For example Alexander was in a close fight that could have gone either way,but some think he lost & because of that he's garbage & must rematch Kotelnik.Khan got a muddhole the size of Asia stomped through him but there is no need to handle that.
Floyd was criticized & most fans thought he would avoid Mosley,he didn't.Post-fight report card:Mosley was old.Now Pacman has signed to fight Mosley.Pre-fight report card:Mosley is the best challenge out there.
Martinez has only fought as high as 160,after being a career jr middleweight.Pacman fought Margarito for Martinez's old title at a catchweight even though none had done a thing at 154.When Martinez said he'll fight him,he's too big & should go fight super middleweights. Why should he,he's never fought their,he didn't go & beat Codrington for a vacant title while refusing to fight the likes of Ward,or Bute, funny stuff.Comment

Plus if you look at when both fighters were at adversity...Bradley was able to bounce back and win after getting knocked down and adjusting. Alexander wasn't able to adjust when he was facing adversity and imo...he lost. Plus:
Power:
Alexander has more pop in his punches but Bradley still has power to make you second guess and this is not including his countering. But i give this edge to Alexander.
Hand Speed:
Alexander i'd say. Bradley got fast hands BUT Alexander's jab jab straight are faster than Bradley's hooks and jabs.
Footwork:
Bradley hands down. Alexander has limited foot movement and doesn't move as much.
Defense:
Bradley hands down. He can fight in the back foot and forward, while Devon clearly can't fight backing up.
Making Adjustments:
Bradley. Proved countless times. Alexander doesn't seem to have much experience in this regard.
Mental Toughness:
Bradley and it ain't even close.
Volume:
Alexander, he throws 70-100 punches a round easy.
Accuracy:
Bradley. Alexander's connect percentages i don't think has ever been that good since we've seen some of his biggest matches.
Verdict:
Bradley..8 rounds to 4.Last edited by TheSlickster; 01-29-2011, 09:07 AM.Comment

A lot of people thought that Alexander should have lost to Kotelnik and he got a gift (including myself). I don't hate the guy, he seems like a nice dude but acting like he has dominated everyone he fought is far from the truth. He does possess nice speed, and agility but what stood out to me was his inability to adapt. All elite fighters possess the standard package: speed, movement, and stamina. What separates the true champs from the A- fighters is the mental aspect. Bradley has a no lose, regardless of what happens attitude.....that is the main difference.Comment

I dont hate Alexander i just dont get the hype behind him because i dont see what many of you on this site saw before or what Kellerman or Rafeal saw that made them think he has elite p4p potential. He is a solid young fighter but nothing special imo. He has a big chance to prove me wrong tonight because i believe Bradley is the number one guy at 140 and a win over him would be very impressive.Comment
