Here's my fight analysis:
Both fighers are very fast so speed is a wash. Floyd is going to be bigger and stronger. He has the reach advantage and skill advantage. His defesne is superior to any fighter in boxing. Manny has never faced a defense this good. What Manny has faced and had trouble with is a great counterpuncher (Juan Manuel Marquez), Floyd is a great counterpuncher...but better than Marquez. He's a better boxer than Erik Morales who beat Manny. As a matter of fact Oscar was very easy to hit. Hatton and Cotto both are straight forward guys who have no head movement and no thought for defense. I see Manny pressing forward to try to make Floyd fight and rattle his calm.I see Floyd counter punching inside of Manny's wide, wild shots and making him pay when he gets close. He will jab and keep Manny at a distance a lot. Manny will have a hard time hitting him and will be very frustrated by how he cant find Floyd during the first 5 rounds...after round 6 Manny will start to show fatigue from chasing Floyd and Floyd will start fighting in the center of the ring and sitting down on his punches. He will totally take over here. It will end in a 10th round Ko or unanimous decison 117-110.
Mayweather has never lost. He has never been Ko'd. He has never been truly knocked down and Manny with a reach disadvantage is going to knock him out?
It is Manny who has 3 losses already to smaller no name guys and 2 by knockout...he is the more vulnerable fighter. Erik Morales outboxed Manny. Marquez, who Floyd destroyed gave Manny all the trouble in the world. If we are going with our heads and not our hearts Mayweather is the obvious favorite.
In my opinion , this will be their toughest fight in their career. They are considered as two of the best boxers in the history of boxing. Its like putting up a dream fight between Tyson and Ali. But in this case, both fighters are in the same era. This fight must absolutely happen for the sake of boxing! Both fighters are sensational in different styles. Floyd is the best defensive fighter i have ever seen. He's got quick hands and is a very intelligent fighter. Manny on the other hand, a tremendous offensive skilled fighter with great foot work, blinding hand speed and has power.
I predict the fight to be very close. But i see pacquiao winning. Manny has become a tactical and aggressive fighter. Floyd cant rely too much on his defense against a fighter like manny. His forward coming style is waaay different compared to fighters floyd fought. But also, manny has never been in the ring with a fighter like floyd. But Pacquiao is relentless, he can come at you for 12 rounds. And he is not alone. His brilliant coach will guide him and give the right gameplan. A gameplan that might be as effective as his first one with oscar against floyd. Roach's game plan was always effective against all pacquiaos opponents. And also, mannys punches coming from different angles would definitely catch floyd sooner or later in the fight and wear him down and dominate the later rounds to end up victorious. Just my opinion. But the victory could go either way, but will definitely go 12 rounds. What do you think?
