Why people dog Greenburg all the time and ***** about him playing dirty pool and not being fair~
Also he hasn't done a good job of running HBO so how exactly do you call him a good businessman? because he managed to stick around and glad hand his way to the top?
Just because Greenburg says the sides talked, doesn't mean they ever really got as far as negotiating. It is a matter of interpretation at that point they talked but if they never got down to brass tacks can it really be called negotiations (it can go both ways).
Also keep in mind Greenburg has been made to look very bad, so it is in his interests to make himself look good by trying to be the white knight that tried his best to make it come off.
"we were heavily involved in the negotiations"
"I had been negotiating with a representative from each side since May 2nd, carefully trying to put the fight together"
HBO's Ross Greenburg finally came out with a statement confirming that there had been negotiations for Manny Pacquiao-Floyd Mayweather fight.
the word used was negotiation...not just simple talks.
of all the people involved, greenburg has the highest credibility. he got no hidden agenda. he just wanted the fight to happen. if he lies in favor of one party, he will have to offend the other. the more the fight will not happen. he wasn't lying...negotiations took place but only one party was willing.Comment

They obvious never met Floyd's demands then and were only willing to go so far, thus it was always a non starter. That is not one side was willing, that is one side wanted to appear willing.
It benefits Greenburg to look like the white knight especially when he normally gets shat on.Comment

"Giving blood doesnt make you weak, not being able to juice because you have to give blood makes you weak" --- Floyd Mayweather
notice how the clowns are harping on the whether there were negotiations or not! Define neegotiations btw.
But in reality, pacq aint agreed to OSTs regardless of what top rank force feeds u idiots! if he did, we would see him doing OST in his fights.
Any sign of that? Thought so.Comment

Floyd hasn't done complete OST either. They had an 18-day cutoff for the Mosley fight and when Manny offered him 7-days cutoff he didn't accept. For some reason, Floyd is fixated on 18-day cutoff. That's what he offered Manny in the first negotiation and what was implemented in the Mosley fight. Hmmm.Comment

Did not read all the posts cuz its already 23 pages long.
Somebody already mentioned it but HBO's Greenburg reach out in behalf of Top Rank/Team Pacuiao. And where was Floyd, not saying ****.
As far as Pac beating JMM on a split decision, well somebody should tell Floyd that Pac fough JMM at Juan's 2 best weight, 126-130. JMM moved up 2 weights to fight Floyd. And Floyd said it himself, it was a tune up fight against JMM.Comment
