Comments Thread For: Kessler-Stieglitz: Offer of 500,000 EUR Confirmed By SES

After initially denying they had received an offer, promoter Ulf Steinforth of SES confirmed to BILD that Sauerland Event has sent over an offer of 500,000 EUR to stage a fight in Denmark between the comebacking Mikkel Kessler (43-2, 32KOs), who is handled by Sauerland, and the SES promoted Robert Stieglitz (39-2, 23KOs), the reigning WBO super middleweight champion. The fight would take place in June. Steinforth said they are going to review the offer.

kessler gave it a shot at fighting the best but realized he couldn't cut it so it's back to beating B level fighters.

Froch has probably got one of the best, if not the best, resume's in boxing over the last 3 years:

            - decision win over Pascal (went on to win LHW lineal crown)
            - KO over Taylor
            - decision over Dirrell (who went on to beat Abraham)
            - a very close points loss to Kessler (I scored the fight was a draw tbh)
            - a very convincing points win over Abraham.

By my reckoning he's 4-0-1 in world-title fights.

And how the hell can you say Kessler fights lower-level opponents when he has fought the likes of Calzaghe (ATG), Froch, Beyer, Adrade, and Ward.

that fight could have gone either way. he's done traveling .he just wants to sit on a title again. yea he might fight froch if he comes to denmark again but no way he will ever do that.

The writer fails to mention that Stieglitz promoter Steinforth has already declined the offer, according to German newspapers: "Half a million Euros we don't even need to discuss. Besides, we have other plans with Robert," he says.

i said he's done fighting the best because he knows he can't beat them. you even confirmed this as you had the froch fight a draw. it's all stiegletz's from here out and no leaving denmark ever again.
