I agree with you man, I mean there's a reason why PAC & Roach enforce these catch weights, they can really affect your performance. Its common sense when comparing a blood test to actually having to lose weight - blood test ain't ****. I still think that Cotto would have lost that fight, with or without the catchweight.

If the pounds did not mean anything. Why did Pac's team inforce it?
In Cottos 9 fights at welter before facing Manny,

in five of them he came within a pound and a half of 145. In the immediate fight before Manny, he weighed 146.

The weight was not the problem for Cotto,

        Mannys blazing fists were.

those 2 pounds effected cotto. whos to say that cotto wasn't gonna come in at the full limit of 147???

fat asses who've never fought in combat sports wouldn't know this.

1 or 2 pounds are the HARDEST to lose. after you've lost those last little pounds you feel WEAK......they don't come off easy.

it took something out of cotto to come down to 145.....

Well there is was an out cry by the Mannyiacs. These folks es were crying out that the weight restrictions had no effect what’s so ever and that it was just a weak excuse. Yet these same folks on the other had sympathize and support Manny’s excuse of losing the fight with Eric because of a blood test. They go even further by calling May a coward for wanting such a test because it would weaken Manny yet have no regards to Manny’s opponents having to be to drop weight.

I would have loved to make a poll on which people actually think a blood test effects your conditioning more then actually dropping weight.

Let me guess your puerto rican? right? have you ever though maybe cotto lost cuz he isn't all that great????

of course it does. but cotto felt he could deal with it, which is why he agreed to the stipulation. unless of course you're saying cotto can be bought and willfully allowed himself to be put in a significant disadvantage just because of money.

pac himself admitted he can't handle it, so he didn't accept the terms. its as simple as that.

fighters make concessions all the time to make fights. some more than others, depending on the situation. definitely Pac made concessions when he agreed to fight ODLH two whole weight classes higher than he's ever fought before and dealt with it pretty well.

cotto accepted pac's offer, lost and said nothing of it afterwards. its only fans who actually complained about all this.

indeed it did. why else would pac require that of him? but that was simply to even out the situation, since cotto was naturally the bigger, stronger fighter and pac was just trying out a relatively new weight class.

both had advantages and disadvantages coming to the fight. its simply up to the fan to decide who had the upper hand overall.

Manny is running out of fight, would you want to see manny fight cotto again At 154lb and manny still at 148lb ? Me Ithink same outcome, did you know I called that fight, said manny will drive cotto backward and win out trade him. most said yea right, but that was the key.
