I totally agree. He showed promise when he weighed under 240 but he will never get that low again. The only thing this guy can do is take a punch. If he throws punches, he will be out of breath after 3 rounds. He's not serious about boxing, he's seroius about eating burritos and drinking beer. A 'Never-Was' if I ever saw one... -
chris looks 10 x better than he has in his last two fights. god willing his hands will hold up and he will be active in getting this guy out of there in the first half of the fight.
he's such an easy guy to root for, i'd love to see him making better money back on hbo or showtime, but he's gotta commit to the sport first and show up at 240 for his next championship level fightComment

Arreola wins this imo
Arreola wins this via knock out or desicion but I am dissapointed to see him over weight and while I don't doubt his stamina and ability to take a punch I still think he needs to dedicate himself in order to prove his doubters wrong.
However I have nothing against Joey Abbell and hey if he wins this fight (he is beloved in Minnesota) perhaps he can rise to the occasion unlike Arreola but irregardless I still think Arreola wins this.Comment

Arreola's exciting, sure, but he's also lazy, undisciplined and incredibly crude for this level of the sport. It's not enough that he knocks people out in exciting fashion (which people? no one with a pulse). K-1 guys do that all the time, and many are in better physical condition than Nips is. Boxing demands different standards. When it becomes clear that someone doesn't take the sport seriously then his fans have the right to be pissed off, because he's not giving it his all.
Arreola's stamina and punch output in the Vitali and Adamek fights wasn't that bad considering his condition, but as his last fight showed, his weight is now clearly affecting his performance. I don't care if Arreola never looks like a bodybuilder, but when you're lacking any muscle definition at all, and have breast tissue to boot then, call me skeptical, but I doubt you're in the best condition you can be in.
Anyway, Arreola has become marginalised for now. The Abell fight didn't tell us anything we didn't already know.Comment
