Comments Thread For: Steward: Cotto Will Connect With Every Shot on Mayorga

The junior middleweight champion of the World Boxing Association (WBA), Miguel Cotto, and has a well-lanned strategy to beat his next opponent, Ricardo Mayorga, by combining intelligence and power. Cotto will defend against Mayorga on March 12 in Las Vegas. Emanuel Steward, the trainer of Cotto, said intelligence and the power in the Puerto Rican boxer's fists will be the keys to victory.

Lol Miguel Cotto better hit Ricardo Mayorga with every shot. Mayorga is target practice. No defense.

      Agreed, Manny.

Everyone agrees that Cotto will win this one. But I disagree with those who think that Cotto will stop him. Mayorga is an awkward, big fighter. He won't be stopped by Cotto, who isn't the hardest hitter at 154.

Agreed. If Cotto can't connect on every shot then there's a problem. Wonder if mayorga will leave his chin out and taunt Cotto to hit him. It shoal be entertaining while it lasts.

But there are some good odds going around, as low as 3:1...
