So which one of the young bucks out there is going to draw 20K+ fans on their own merit?
Berto? maybe 10K
Bradley? maybe 5-10K
Alexander maybe 10-15K
Why did Mayweather fight Mosley instead of one of those young bucks? Because Mayweather is a PPV boxer and Mosley was the biggest name out there. With both guys wanting to earn millions of dollars and millions upon millions of other dollars having to be paid out to various sources, the opponent has to sell tickets.
The only reason why Clottey kind of worked out was the fact that the fight was at the Cowboys stadium. With this fight being at the MGM Grand, the popularity of the opponent must go up to balance it out.
So how many white guys does a black person have to defeat to prove their greatness? Or how many Mexicans does a puerto rican have to beat to become famous?
Is there a formula?
E.g. Race/wins x race + skill (+ 100000000 for slick) = greatness
The white-man's guilt complex makes me want to puke. Accept and learn to embrace your inferior genetic make-up. Black fighters are, as Bernard Hopkins puts it, "Built Differently". Mayweather, Ward & Bradley are clearly the 3 most gifted athletes in boxing.
Poochiao has built a career on fighting washed-up Mexican legends and slow, plodding fighters. He has been out-classed everytime he has fought anyone who wasn't a zombie.
