Khan will beat Maidana easily in a rematch.

Basically, he made a lot of mistakes, and really it only became a close fight when he got hurt.

He won 7 of the 9 rounds, plus the KD.

When he got caught, he lost 4 rounds off that.

A lot of people said 1 punch would do it, but nope.

If Khan works on holding his left hand abit mroe and walking to his right, then Maidana won't catch him.

The other issues, standing there and allowing himself to be uppercut, that also was ******.

The running, well, Khan needs to learn how to 'run' effectively, and conserve more energy.

Everyone thinks that because of Khan's face that his career was shortened, but believe me, Maidana's the one whose career was shortened. He got hurt to the body and looked like he has ate 5 of the hottest chilli's in the world and got diarhoe, and then he took a lot of shots on his chin.

Who will have a longer career? Khan will.

Khan needs to adjust a fair few things, and he can, but Maidana only fights one way. Khan made mistakes, he will be better.

Khan, give this mofo his wish and rematch him and this time make him look like a bum.

PandaKilla,I think Khan would win a rematch but I don't think it would be easy. The body shot that Khan hit Maidana with in round one took a lot out of Maidana and he was not hitting as hard as could after that. It was a great shot but the fight would have been even more difficult for Khan had he not landed it.
Amir's defense is not as good as it should be,that is why he got hit so much. You make it sound that Amir just stood there deliberately taking shots . That is not true,he got hit because his defense is not good enough.
It was a tough fight and Amir does not need 2 of those in a row. I would like to see a rematch 3 or 4 fights down the road and most likely at welterweight. Maidana is raw and not a classic boxer but he is not a bum. It was a tough fight because Maidana is a good fighter not because Amir had an off day.

It will be a another close fight. Kahn will make the same mistakes he made in the last fight.

I just think khan will be easier to beat currently then in a couple of years. He is improving at a serious rate, the last 2 years he has been improving physically more than skill and technique. In a couple of years someone like maidana probably would be devastated by khan, he is very beatable at the moment, and thats why he still needs 3 or 4 fights until he fights the top p4p guys. Him fighting alexander or bradley now is risky business, thats what makes it exciting. But out of the 3 I think khan will move up in weight and emerge as the true star. They have been working so much on his conditioning and turning him into a man, much of his training his been strengthening especially plyometric work for his legs. I think now roach knows he can handle these guys physically he will focus much more on khan's technique and adding new moves and shots to his arsenal, like he did with pacquiao.

He is still not totally ****sure in the ring, but his confidence is growing all the time, maybe mentally the maidana win will put him on a new level, his confidence fighting in the pocket is where he needs to improve, his confidence in there, that he can land his shots and make the other guy miss, and god forbid if it does land then he will take it. I think the maidana fight gave him the confidence and sometimes thats all it takes.

I have to agree with No Ceilings here. A power puncher will never be an easy fight for Amir BUT I do believe that Amir will beat Maidana more convincingly this time. I rewatched the fight again (12th time) yesterday and you could just see Amir wanting to prove a point that he can take punches from the biggest puncher and that he can hit hard himself as well. He kept on raising his arms whenever he got hit. I mean, he did this like 6 times . Ive never seen him fight this bravely since being with Roach.

And don't forget Amir was coming from a long lay-off of 7 months. The longest lay-off of his pro career by far. He usually fights once in 3-4 months. Amir is only 24 and is still improving. Maidana on the otherhand will always be the same. It's too late for him to improve. He is 27.

Bradley and Alexander would beat Maidana as well.

Khan pretty much dominated the first 9 rounds of the fight. Maidana had moments but he looked dejected at the end of the 9th round.

Then he landed that overhand right and the fight changed. Roach needs to work on Khan's defence for those looping shots which come from the blindside, thats what Prescott got him with.

Moving to his right will help Khan, but as it is, his footwork isn't very good and serves to basically get him out of trouble and maintain distance. The problem is, he gets cornered, and the fight wore on against Maidana, it happened more and more. If he were able to control distance better with his jab, this wouldn't be as big as a problem, it would cover up his lack of an inside game. Though ideally he should learn and be able to deal with infighting.

Granted Kotelnik pressured him, but Kotelnik is a safety first fighter, he has to block or parry before he throws, Maidana is willing to get hit in order to get his licks in. At this juncture, relentless pressure fighters will be difficult for Khan.

Also, the right hand that rocked him was a counter right hand over a lazy jab that he brought back low, with his chin, he can't do that. The initial punch that Prescott was also a counter punch, though it was a left hook.
