Joe Gallagher spoke exclusively to BoxingScene.com to confirm that, as of yet, the mooted match between his charge John Murray and Amir Khan has not been finalised. Amir is looking for an opponent for his April 16th homecoming bout, Murray is in the frame, as is Northern Ireland’s Paul McCloskey – Team Khan have yet to ink a deal with either boxer.

Froch also agrees with me that Salita, who lost to Khan last week, was in no way deserving of a number one mandatory position.

Froch said, ”Khan took him out with some fast, clean shots. But without wanting to upset King Khan again – who is this Salita fella? I’m not being derogatory but honestly, I’ve never heard of the bloke. I’d want to see an opponent at least take a shot and throw some back. I suppose it’s down to the mandatory situation that he fought Amir. Maybe I don’t follow enough boxing, but correct me if wrong, Salita was never regarded as a hot prospect. If he was any good we’d have all heard about him before he’d got to the no1 spot, wouldn’t we?”

”My first defence was Jermain Taylor in America which kinds of gives you an idea of a what a genuine contender should be- and whom can declare themselves ‘world class’ and therefore be qualified to get a shot at the world champion. That guy Salita had no business in there and I’d bet my house on him never getting another shot again at any belt.”

But I guess it does bug a few other fighters out there who are taking harder fights and bigger risks, yet still doing the 9-5. But that’s not Amir’s fault. Obviously Froch made these comments after the Salita fight. I bet he's changed his mind after watching the Maidana fight!

On about Prescott mate. He got smashed to pieces and doesn't want to put the record straight what does that tell you? He doesn't really have a heart, if he did he'd fight anyone but he just handpicks fighters. Ortiz would beat him and so would Prescott. I bet you he fights neither. And don't say Khan beat Ortiz in ams' because Prescott beat Khan in 54 seconds 2 years ago. Humble? Mr 'Im the quickest man in boxing' and every wants my money. He's a prick. Talented, but not the best, no way.

Nar, Khan will box the shoes of Maidana, but Maidana will connect at least once and he will win. Trust me I watched all of Khan's fights and even bum fighters were knocking him down. His chin is a joke.

Well.. did he ever get knocked out in 1 minute like KING KAHN? Hahaha. No he didn't. Calzaghe stood infront of his opposition and fought them. Amir Khan is the horrible fighter, throws some jabs and runs off. When Maidana catches him, career is over. Look at it like this, Joe beat Kessler easily. Kessler beat Froch. Froch beat Jean Pascal, who is the man all of a sudden. No doubt he beat Hopkins, Hopkins landed one good punch. The rest of the fight was all Calzaghe. He dominated Jeff Lacy also. Anyway, I hope Khan gets his jaw broke against Maidana.
