I'd personally have Futch ahead of Cus D'Amato. I'd have Steward ahead of him too in no way does Roach, Burstein rank ahead of him in my eyes.
The Top Ten Greatest Trainers In Boxing History: My Take

Yeah Arcel is missing and it doesnt seem like you have a criteria you should have justifications for picks, but thats a nice set of trainers, good effort.Comment

Ray Arcel is a must, you can only really make an argument for Eddie Futch above him, though I go with Arcel #1.Comment

No problem with your opinions(though I disagree) but I heard from a respected retired pro boxer where I am from who trained with Steward that he is overrated and that Dundee was more of a motivator not really a trainer.Comment

Jackie McCoy was one of the best boxing trainers in history.
Jackie McCoy is a legendary trainer that worked with dozens of world champions and had 5 world champions of his own.
McCoy made 5 World Champions from scratch.
Here’s a story on him by SHOWTIME:
http://cyberboxingzone.com/cbzforum/...ead.php?t=1974
McCoy took care of his fighters and retired them when he knew when they no longer had what it takes to be a fighter.
McCoy made 5 World champions:
Don Jordan
Raul Rojas
Carlos Palomino
Mando Ramos
Rodolfo Gonzalez
(he almost had another World Champion in Frankie Crawford, but Crawford was robbed in a hometown decision, when he fought the World Champion in his “backyard” in Japan)
He was also a powerfull manager, and considered, then, as the most powerfull manager.
One time, he made Don King put over $100,000 in purse money in escrow, before the Roberto Duran vs. Carlos Palomino fight.
Here’s McCoy working the corner of Palomino vs Duran with Ray Arcel

many people dont know about McCoy, cause he didnt like being in the limelight, and not make many interviews.Last edited by Mayas; 01-25-2011, 08:23 PM.Comment

Blackburn should be higher as well.
And in addition to some of the ones listed, Charley Goldman certainly deserves to be on the list I feel. He was brilliant and trained at least 5 world champions IIRC, including Marciano.Comment
