Why is there so much more money in Boxing than all other fighting sports?

Ugh and tell me what other company has the capital and viewership to Pay them millions. Fedor is an anomoly he got lucky and has an excellent promoter but when compared to the next highest payed fighter (Brock Lesner) there is a giant drop off in how much money the UFC pays out.

But another thing you havent taken into consideration is the dozens upon dozen of sponsers each fighter has. that income doesn't get reported so who knows how much the UFC fighters are making.

GSP made 900K in salary and Nick Diaz said he heard he made a couple million dollars this year. So he probably made another million dollars from endorsements. GSP is one of the top two draws in the sport and arguably the most endorsed. He made about one twentieth of what Pacqiao did.

And while it would help if Strikeforce got it's **** together and provided a viable alternative, all their miserable failure is doing is slowing down the process. Eventually the fighters will band together, or a fighter will break through into the mainstream and realize that he can be bigger than the brand. You can't have a promotion without fighters, just like you can't run a steel mill without workers. Like I said, monopolies don't last forever.

Bowling has dedicated shows on Sunday on ESPN. ESPN will cover anything that will draw ratings. MMA is not an established sport in most nations and is frowned upon by most. It has a long way to go to be considered a legit sport. In boxing, most people consider it a sport but MMA most people consider it a fight. Not many people look at MMA as a sport. It kind of is like WWF in a way.

I'm not saying it's a fad. What I'm saying is just because you have a show on ESPN doesn't really mean much at all. ESPN is looking to make money, no matter what bottom feeder sport they are willing to take. MMA isn't my thing but all hate aside it's a bit crazy to compare it to boxing. Boxing is a global sport and in nearly every country is the number one combat sport. Yeah, it may be close to the same level in the United States(debatable) but that is one nation, there's 200 other ones.

MMA wil never be as big as boxing. when people hear about mma they think "wow thats cool" but after watching a couple of fights they realise it's just two guys dry humping each other.

Ugh it's huge in England, Australia, and has always been huge in Japan. They just had their first show in German and it sold out the o2 arena. Oh but boxing is bigger kazakhstan my bad!
