Pacquiao told the Inquirer “its much better that we have someone else winning the award. I’m happy because it's not nice if we win it all the time. We need to give others a chance. I am happy for him.”

Pacquiao who is known for his graciousness and humility said “I have no problem at all. It's not that I am tired of winning awards but at least others also get a chance to win “Fighter of the Year”.

lol, pac is so full of ****. Martinez earned that award, it had nothing to do with the writers giving someone else a "chance". Pac shoudlnt have even been in the running against Martinez.

thinking the same damn thing! chance?? where this dude going talking like that. it comes across like Martinez doesn't deserve it..that he was lucky because pacman always wins so he got the award by default?

'real champion'? as in like the 'real' championship belt that was custom made for him in his custom made division that he could'nt even make weight in himself? get 'real' pac!

ODLH (weight drained), i'll give him hatton ...hatton should have been better prepared - thats why you dont employ a crackhead as a trainer!, Cotto (weight), clottey (complete lack of ability), margarito (weight), mosley (age)......how is that not picking and choosing?

if ur gonna be in the sport for the sake of the sport thats fine. if ur innit to line ur pockets then thats cool too...but dont sell it like ur out for carving a rep as being the true 'warrior' when there are better guys you could have faced for less cash ....thats just a little bit insulting to the fans !

Now I'm a fan of Manny, but... (then proceeds to downplay all of Pac's victories with lame excuses).

How can you claim to be a fan if you feel that there was nothing special in what Pac accomplished in defeating his opponents? Or was it merely to lend more credence to your criticisms about Pac?

I hope Manny's tone doesn't change if Bradley beats Alexander. Because Bradley will give Manny real problems IMO.

Let me refresh your memory here:

ODLH - how quickly people forget that it was Oscar who was calling the shots here. he made Pac go up TWO FULL WEIGHT CLASSES to fight him. Even boxing experts called it a circus... a much bigger guy facing a smaller man. he had MILLIONS, the best trainers available, the best facilities to train at, the best of practically everything he would need... and Pac made him quit at his stool.

sheeesh. people always make it sound like Pac made the guy mess up his own training.

CLOTTEY - he was at the TOP FIVE welterweight at the time he fought Pac. how you could describe guy who was top five at the welterweight division as completely lacking in ability speaks volumes of your intellect.

MARGARITO - weight? are you kidding me?!? the guy spent a significant portion of his career as a welterweight.

MOSLEY - age. mosley fought Floyd just a little over eight months ago. because of that, many considered floyd #1 again. but now when Pac's fighting him, he's old? whatever you say man.

It doesn't matter who Pacman picks, there will be always an excuse for choosing somebody else.
If he fights Berto and win, he was too Green, he should fought Marquez
If its Marquez it will only happen at 147 and when he beats him it will be because of the weight and he should had fought Berto.
If he beats Mosley, He was shot and old, he should had fought a younger opponent.
If he fights Alexander, Bradley or Khan they were to green or came from a smaller weight class.
If he fights Martinez, it would be at a catchewieght at 154 or less, and we all know that it's always an excuse if he wins.

That fact is the Pacman has fought the best available and has won.

The only fighter out there that will not generate any excuses if he wins is against PBF and we all know he's on vacation.

The sad part is that if they finally fight let's say in September, and Pacman wins, people will still have an excuse saying that it was because of PBF's legal issues or 1 year inactivity.

It does not matter what the man does or who he beats, there will always be somebody using an excuse.

Say What U Want, Mayweather Won't Fight!

Floyd had TWO (2) chances to sign and fight Pacquiao, and he opted NOT to. Don't give me all this BS about balking over drug testing. Everyone else has had the balls to step up and fight Manny. And to squelched another rumor, Manny Pacquiao has been fighting EVERYBODY, and making a healthy living picking the highest grossing opponents available. Highest grossing because you're all paying to see those fights. Dela Hoya, Hatton, Cotto, Clottey, Margarito, and now Mosley, and Juan Manuel Marquez will be next. He's staying busy. With the exception of Hatton and a dried out Dela Hoya, all those guys were much bigger than Manny.Who's Floyd been fighting besides a security guard?
