The Wlad fight is only dead because Haye doesn't want it. The offer is still on the table - all Haye has to do is sign.

And how can Haye possibly be serious about fighting Vitali less than 9 weeks after Vitali's next fight, when he gave the 9 week promotion window as his reason for not fighting Wlad??? You can't really believe he's serious about that! Vitali has made it clear that he would be willing to fight Haye in July, not before, and Haye turned down the offer to fight Vitali in July. You can't expect a 40 year old to take two hard fights in such a short time span. (Solis isn't a tune-up like Chisora, he's a much tougher opponent.) Booth was banking on that fact when he claimed to be interested in fighting Vitali in May, having already turned down a fight with Vitali in July. He knows his bluff won't be called. Booth and Haye are just snake oil salesmen, and you seem to be very fond of buying snake oil.

Great, but then why do you still support him? He's just trying to take fans like you for a ride.

No, it was press rumours that mentioned his hand, not any statement from him or his team.

A reason to be su****ious, but not for any objective person to be certain at that time that the injury was faked.

Do you have a link? I never saw any statement from them trying to scuttle Wlad's fight with Chagaev.

In any case, none of that was a reason to be certain that his real reason for bailing out at that time wasn't simply that Setanta were about to go under. Many objective and respected boxing writers still believe that to have been his real reason, even now.

didnt know the offer was still on the table for the fight but im pretty sure vitali will walk through solis who maybe better fight then chisora and also the fact that vitali is 40 i reckon maybe 8 or 10 weeks would be enough to prepare then since i did say april or may but most likely it would be in may because of the recovery thing so i reckon he would be in shape for a fight with haye by that time despite his age....

and i support him mainly because hes a local fighter from the same country and i like his style as well since along with the vitali he is interesting to watch in heavyweight boxing....wladimir sometimes i find him interesting but what i dont like is that the guy either clinches alot or does not really go for the KO as much anymore along with being a more safety first fighter nowadays...

I can relate to those reasons, and they were valid until Haye started blatantly ducking. But I don't understand how you can keep supporting someone who has been blatantly ducking the Klitschkos for more than a year now - arguably for two years; and who is clearly hell bent on taking his fans for a ride and making as much money as he can out of them while taking the lowest risk fights available - while all the time telling blatant lies about the Klitschkos and about the negotiations.

Also, Wlad has become considerably less over-cautious in the last couple of years than he used to be, and he deserves more props for that than he's generally been given.

And on the subject of being over-cautious, Haye hasn't exactly set the world alight in the ring at Heavyweight. His performance against Valuev was more over-cautious than the worst of Wlad's fights, and he threw fewer punches per round in that fight than any Heavyweight in title fight history. Against Audley, he threw nothing until the third round, and had to be warned by the referee for not fighting. The Ruiz fight was more entertaining, but Haye showed in that fight that he has no defence against a good jab, which means he has no chance of landing cleanly against either Klitschko, especially against Wlad. Plus his stamina was terrible against Ruiz.

They funny thing was that only 7 tickets were returned - that's right SEVEN, out of 60,000. Shows who the draw was that night.
I didnt know about this, fackin greedy *****es(Haye and Booth)!!

Booth's claim that Vitali is an "old fighter" so they are not interested is just so ***** hilarious. It's beyond snake oil, even.

Haye just fought Audley Harrison, yet Vitali, the WBC champion who hasn't lost a round, arguably, since his comeback, is just an old guy who will soon lose so they can't be bothered?

Is there anyone left who really buys this ****?

The truth is, they want no part of Vitali because they are afraid of what he'll do to Haye. Vitali already choked him out in a German eatery. They are less afraid of Wladimir, but don't really want any part of him, either.

And let us not forget the Vitali is old is silly since Vitali is only one year older than Mormek

Exactly -- the whole "he's too old" excuse is a farce.

And Vitali has had six fights (all championship level, no less) in the last two and a half years. Mormeck? Three fights in the last three years (zero champ level.)

                    • Mormeck will be age 39 in June.

Anybody hear anything new on the negotiations for Haye-Mormeck II?
