Comments Thread For: Roman Gonzalez Could Become Champ, Reveco Stripped?

For now, the World Association of Boxing is allowing Juan Carlos Reveco to remain as the full junior flyweight champion, said vice president said Gilberto Jesus Mendoza. But Mendoza says Reveco committed "flagrant violations" and he must explain his reason for doing so. He was ordered by the WBA to make his mandatory defense against interim champion Roman Gonzalez. He instead went forward with a ten round contest on Saturday in Argentina. The WBA ordered him not to go forward with Saturday's contest and he disobeyed their directive. The WBA will hear him out and then a vote will be taken on whether or not he will remain champion. If Reveco is stripped, then Roman Gonzalez will become the full champion at junior flyweight.

But, they're kind of in the right here don't you agree?

I mean Gonzalez and Reveco were suppose to fight in October. Reveco pulled out.

Gonzalez went on to fight Rosas and rescheduled to fight Reveco next month in February.

Then Reveco pulls out of the February fight because he had some kind of managerial problems and wanted to terminate his manager contract or something like that.

But, then weeks later after pulling out he signs to have fight in January(the fight took place yesterday) doesn't it seem like he's avoiding his mandatory?

What should be the consequences of the title holder pulling out of his fights against his mandatory but at the same time making other fights?
