Kingpin Johnson to get back on the title track?

The only decent thing that came out the Redemption PPV was Kingpin schooling the giant Long with his superior boxing ability and looked impressive for taking this fight in 3 days notice.

Dose the Kingpin have enough to get back in title contention?

kingpin aka giant slayer aka 3 days notice

Beating up two nobodies in a row? I'd say he's definitely doing what modern heavies do to get a title shot, then duck it if they get cold feet.

I thought the Kingpin fought well last night.

I'd like to see him in with a top 50 heavyweight next time.

Barret messed up pretty bad aswell by he's still unbeaten in two so he could be right up there

Impressive since he took on the fight in 3 days notice, imagine if he had a full training camp behind him

Someone tell Minto to put on the extra weight again and move up, I'd rather see him against a Klitschko then this Clown again.

              ...And LoL Freedom.

Unless he fights and beat a top 10 fighter, he doens't deserve a title shot.

why so he can stand there and only fight after the bell rings the end the round again

Dunno what it is about Kevin Johnson but I'm on the fence with him. IMO he's clearly no bum because his jab is great and so are his defensive abilites. The problem is that defensive fighters like himself must be either heavy handed in order to maximize the impact of the few shots he unleashes or very accurate with his punches while maintaining a noticable work rate.
Unfortunately he's neither heavy handed nor active enough to get the maximum out of his IMO fine skills.

His non-performance against Vitali was a disgrace though. The commentator on Holyfield's PPV said Johnson chose the wrong game plan by fighting Vitali tall because he can't outbox him on the outside. So style-wise the Klitschkos are a disaster for him but perhaps he could take on another top 15 HW. I'd favor him over Dimitrenko, Chagaev (who looked ridiculously bad in his last two fights tbf) and the likes.
