Comments Thread For: Frank Maloney Believes Jamie McDonnell Will Be a Star

Frank Maloney has big plans for European bantamweight champion Jamie McDonnell after watching his man retain his title at the Doncaster Dome. “We’re looking for new stars in 2011 and tonight we’ve found one,” says Maloney. “Jamie showed true Yorkshire grit tonight and can follow people like Paul ingle and Naseem Hamed [who both went from Yorkshire beginnings to world title success].”

Frank Maloney is deluded. Jamie McDonnell is such a limited fighter.

Have you seen him fight? I haven't yet but his rise over the last 12 months has been very impressive. Whats his style like? And don't just say "crap" or "hopeless". Answer like a real boxing fan.

And where does anyone get this view from?? Am i the only one who watched this fight live on sky sports on saturday? Somehow i don't think so,, and i won't be the only one to tell you that McDonnell is NOT a limited fighter. Everyone that watched the fight will tell you that he's got heart, great stamina, skill, a good boxing brain and loves to tear it up when he can. That is not a limited fighter. Hopefully he can keep his head in the boxing game, cut out the partying and become a world champion. There's no reason why he can't. SO LIMIT THAT ONE!!!!
