I don't like Floyd, but he deserves more props for his win agaisnt Shane than Cotto's

Beat him on neutral grounds without a ref that helped him get out of trouble like Benji Esteves did with Cotto. Beat him more convincingly. Was more aggressive. And didn't taint the performance and victory by retreating in the championship rounds.

Now I agree that he was probably more hurt in that second round than Cotto was in any time in the fight when he fought Shane. But these Cotto fans and anybody in general who says Cotto was never hurt against Mosley are idiots. I'm so sick of people on Cotto's nuts for that fight because he didn't win it convincingly at all.

This isn't a thread to give Floyd praise that he doesn't deserve, because to be honest I don't give him that much credit for beating Mosley either. Especially after seeing that Mosley didn't do shit when he fought Mora. But to be honest I think that both guys fought the same exact version of Shane Mosley almost if you want me to be fair about it. Mosley went on to look like dog shit against Mayorga right after Cotto beat him and he was coming off the impressive performance against Collazo just like he had just destroyed Margarito when Mayweather fought him. Only Mosley had half the inactivity going into the Cotto fight that he had when he fought Mayweather.

This also isn't a thread to flame Cotto fans. But they and people in general who as mentioned before give Cotto more credit for beating Shane when he didn't beat him as convincingly as Floyd did are on some bullshit and you people know who you are.

wifebeater actually beat mosley (albeit one that was coming off a long layoff) while cotto barely got past mosley (albeit a one closer to his prime) and IMHO mosley beat cotto. So I would have to say wifebeater's performance against a mosley coming off a long layoff was better than cotto's performance against a more prime version of mosley.

that said, cotto wasn't never hurt by mosley the way that wifebeater was hurt by mosley. wifebeater was almost KTFO 2x. Cotto was never in danger of getting stopped by mosley. yeah, cotto got on his bike, but he never almost got KTFO.

He got on his bike against Mosley because he would've gotten knocked out if he didn't.

I was going to post something but then I realized the thread starter is the Puerto Rican hater....Nevermind.

Its like talking to the KKK about Malcolm X and Martin Luther King. It wont sink in.

of course... but cotto was never close to getting KTFO once in the fight with a younger version of mosley... wifebeater was almost KTFO 2x against an older version of mosley.

Floyd didnt come off a long lay off against SSM. Todays fighters dont fight regulary so 2 years isnt so out of the ordinary. How long did SSM have off before fighting Floyd? All fighters are in danger of being rusty including those who fight only once a year like many fighters do.

So dont fawn over FLoyds long lays offs and not looking rusty.

I say the Cotto win was more impressive. the Mayweather fight was more exciting but I expected him to win easy. Cotto I did not. Cotto boxed very well and earned that victory. That was the first fight I thought, "Damn this Cotto is a real technician when hre wants to be".
