  • HBO/Pac/Showtime/PBF

I'm thinking this is a good move towards actually making Pac/PBF a reality.
HBO took a sh.it(and will have to come up with something outrageous to compete) & Showtime showed up. Because Showtime is partnered with CBS and is able to reach 100+ million viewers on average, its going to be seen, advertised and talked about more because of the main****** plug. Realistically, it could be the richest fight in boxing history(you and i know PBF wont turn that payday down). And it will also make HBO put on the best fights because of its past failures....

I'm not writing this to start a hater/hugger thread, i'm just looking at the hypothetical possibilities...

Im commonly refered toas a ***** but the jury's still out. I think it helps keep the fire hot. Rival boxers on rival networks is gonna make this the biggest fight ever. All in all its gonna be worht the wait provided Pac doesnt take punishment against Mosley.

the HBO/Showtime rivalry is gonna make pac/wifebeater even more difficult to make.

I think it will make it easier to make, if there's a bidding war the money might end up being too much for floyd to walk away from. Let us pray...

Bottom line, how will this affect the Pac/Mosley PPV? Since showtime has about 4 or 5 times more viewership than HBO, does that necessarily mean a 4 or 5 times bigger PPV?

There are pitfalls and benefits for taking risks like what Arum is doing going to showtime, but i guess its Bob being himself and trying out different things like the Texas stadium.

Personally, whether its showtime or HBO, its all the same to me, just as long as i can order/watch the Pac/Mosley fight. (though i hope showtime would also offer it on HD).

Oh, and i previously stated that i won't pay to watch the Pac/Mosley fight. I kinda changed my mind again since i want to see how Mosley performs against pac and vice versa.

It will make waves at first but everyone knows time is ticking so they'll put a hussle in their muscles. Too much money.

Showtime will offer it in HD and I'm guessing it will be just like any other major PPV where it's $50-55 + $10 for HD.

trust this.. the HBO/Showtime rivalry will make it harder to make pac/wifebeater.

why? cause wifebeater has used the rivalry as an excuse (justifiably) to duck tszyu. from the mouth of wifebeater himself:

"tszyu is a showtime fighter" - wifebeater jr

Floyd threatened to leave HBO if they made him fight tougher fights like Pacquiao. This just makes it easier for him, now he won't need any excuses he won't be pressured to fight a Showtime fighter.
