I remember watching that fight live, on TV. I was on the edge of my seat. Both guys gave as good as they got, with Evander bringing the fight to a crashing end. Just my two cents. Some of the guys here have brought up fights I never saw. Thought I'd return the favor.
Never seen that fight, but I'm going to watch it you've got me interested..

Glad you guys are interested. That fight always comes to mind, whenever I think of some of the best I've ever seen live. In order to really appreciate this classic, one must understand the historical context. Evander had only a couple of heavyweight fights under his belt, having just moved up from cruiserweight. Michael was getting his career back on track, having just come off a ******* habit. Both men were fighting to step up for a crack at Mike Tyson, who was considered invincible at the time.

After making my initial post, my interest in this nearly-forgotten fight was reawakened. Here's a link to an old Sports Illustrated article I dug up, for those interested:

And another from an old Boxingscene thread:

                    1. Morales Pacquiao 1
                    2. Ali Foreman
                    3. Holyfield Qawi 1
                    4. Douglas Tyson
                    5. Mayweather Corrales

If Pacquiao/ Morales isnt in your top 5 then watch it now. The last Mexican standing. Ali/ Foreman speaks for its self. Holyfield Qawi..........Straight bombs thrown. Douglas /Tyson man the build up made the fight. Douglas had just lost his mother and came in in the best shape of his life. Mayweather/Corrales made Floyd a real star. Most hought he would be pummeled but he shined every second. Honorable mention: Morales/Barrera, Holyfield/Foreman, The thrilla in Manila, Gatti/Ward all, Marquez/Vasquez 1.

I forgot Holyfield/Tyson. May have to make a new list.
