First of all I respect all fighters as athletes, but I never would consider this guy an alltime great. I know he fough forever, but he let down a lot of people with that performance vs Pernell Whitaker and struggled after that.. I couldn't put him at a top notch level after that fight.

So what he got schooled by Whitaker. Try and name me all the people who wouldn't have gotten worked by Whitaker that night.
Whitaker is an all time great not some bum off the side of the street there is certianlly no shame in losingto him. Hell I guess we should just throw Azumah Nelson is that list of overrated fighters cause he got it ahnded to him by Whitaker aswell. -
I just didn't like how he got beat so bad.. If he put up a halfway decent effort I could see it, but he didn't.Originally posted by Sir_JoseSo what he got schooled by Whitaker. Try and name me all the people who wouldn't have gotten worked by Whitaker that night.

That's what happens when you face a superior opponent. RJJ and PBF make a lot of people look like that, that's a pretty ****** reason IMO for hateing on someone.Originally posted by TonyWomackFanI just didn't like how he got beat so bad.. Chavez wasnt overated, he made beating people look easy, he only got beat by 4 different people in his whole 115 fight career. He fought some great fighters too.
Why does history remember the macho hard men of the sport as overated but the dancing queens like Ali as something special?? Its so ****ing annoying, its a lot harder to fight on the inside than on the outside.Comment
