Classic Fight Revisited: Who do you think won Forrest-Mayorga II

As a result of the Cotto vs. Mayorga fight coming to fruition, I started to rewatch some of Mayorga's major bouts. Now, it had been a while since I had seen this one and could not remember how I scored it. After rewatching, I think Forrest won that fight 115-113.

To me, it's interesting to think that this fight might have prevented the Cotto-Mayorga fight from happening. Had Forrest won this one, I think Mayorga might have fallen into obscurity and would have been a "one hit wonder". Any thoughts regarding the subject?

Mayorga won the fight. Forrest got embarrassed and really didn't know what to do against Mayorga. He was intimidated by him and it showed in his weak performance.

Mayorga really got the wind taken out of his sails when he was brutally robbed against Spinks.

I agree that Forrest looked uncertain sometimes, but he also managed to outbox Mayorga throughout the second half of the fight. It's one of those fights that can go either way but I think Forrest did enough.

In my eyes Mayorga won that fight. Forrest didn't know what to do with Mayorga, because he couldn't hurt him or back him up. Mayorga was swinging most of the time, while Forrest was thinking what to do.

Vernon Forrest lost no less than five rounds in that fight.You score fights based upon clean effective punching,based on a round-by-round scoring.Unlike Harold Ledderman,I don't give rounds to a guy for taking clean shots and playing up to the crowd.Mayorga was an undeserving winner.

mayorga won it easily in my eyes but you will try to deceive people by acting like if forrest won the fight, lol. thats sad, lol, nyahahahaha
