It's as big a fight as Haye would've been, but without the hype and a hell of a lot more worthy challenger. Only tough fight for Wlad at this stage is his brother.

Imo someone with a big punch is a threat to Wlad and thats it.

Rubbish. Peter had a big punch and was cannon fodder for Wlad in the rematch, although Peter was in the best condition he'd been in for years. A big punch is useless unless you can land it cleanly, which means having the skills to get past an ATG jab, a huge reach, and the best ability to fight tall since Lewis.

Ali didn't have a big punch, but most would pick a prime Ali over Wlad.

Haye has no defence against a good jab, as anyone who saw the Ruiz fight and knows about boxing could see.

Adamek-Haye would be a pick 'em fight.

Peter had a big punch. So did Rahman. Peter actually hit Wlad with his big punch early on in the first round of their rematch with zero effect. Yet people continue to pray on the hope of someone shattering Wlad's "glass" chin with one shot. Not gonna happen. The weaknesses which led to a lot of Wlad's knockdowns in the past, namely crappy balance and lack of proper pacing, have been rectified. Even his deer in the headlights look which contributed to his generally fragile impression in the minds of many fans appears to have gone.

Wlad will never be Oliver McCall, but I think it's time people left this whole "all it takes is one shot" nonsense and put it in the past. At the very least it'll help them predict the outcome of his fights better.

Shhhhh! Let them stay stuck in 2004, that way we'll get better odds when Wladimir faces Haye (if it ever happens)
