Commentators about equal but if i had to pick, i'd pick Showtime too.

WTF do we have to choose one or the other for everything now!?!! Why the *** cant we like both? Who cares as long as there are good fights it could be on the God Dam travel channel!

HBO has better production values and the bigger money fights (not counting PPV). Showtime has closed the gap in production value in recent years (SHOBOX finally went HD middle of last year) and they show some of the best fights period.

Big fight announcers I favor HBO over Showtime. Gus Johnson is horrible and Steve Albert is Meh. Lampley is a legend for a reason.

Small fight announcers I favor Showtime over HBO. Farhood, Bernstein, and Tarver are a great combo. I think Papa is solid and I actually like Kellerman and now RJJ is signed for BAD which is good.

Really close, but I'd say the edge goes to Showtime.

P.S. Showtime is cheaper than HBO per month.

HBO has a better theme song for one. They usually have the hottest fighters of the time. Every since they changed the guard way back HBO has been leaps and bounds better with video production. I enjoy showtime but I wouldnt trade Lampley, Roy and Kellerman for Showtime's best. Im okay with commentators being fanatics as long as its truth they tell. Its human nature to root for your guy.
