I'm apologize and am truely sorry for exposing what seems to be a lack of education on your part by simply replying to you. It was never my intention to show this but I thought my replies were simple enough in nature.

boy how I was wrong! won't happen again.

It will be interesting to see if CBS/Showtime really battle it out with HBO, competition is usually good thing though.

Getting this fight to me was not critical for HBO and it is a good spot for Showtime to pluck it because risk is low and HBO was meh on it, boxing being a star oriented business (as always) so Showtime finally getting to do something with Manny makes them look good.
Hauser has stated this deal was a long time in the making so unless HBO knew something Arum and Hauser didn't I don't see how they were even in the game to begin with

That is how it appears, HBO have been in the Manny business a long time so I am sure they wanted it on some level but if Showtime is willing to do more than HBO that speaks to them wanting it more.

Showtime also has not been associated with the top man in the sport for how long? It is more important for them to do this just for them to be associated with Manny even if it only ends up as one off.

In boxing and this has always been the case if you aren't associated with one of the top couple guys then why are you involved in the sport.

The only reason they would have been is that HBO being in the Manny business a long time (longer than Arum) and has really helped to build Manny, Arum would have essentially given them a chance to match knowing full well they would not match (or even able to match considering Arum wanted ads on CBS). Nobody seems sad upset or shocked though, so yea this has probably been a long time coming.

Arum has made threats about doing this, and he has been kind of upset on HBO dealings. I think the whole Cotto-Vanes situation did it. I think if HBO would have picked Cotto-Vanes then Pac-Mosley would have been on HBO. But, since they didn't I think this is Arum giving HBO the big "F U" and trying to stick it to HBO.

And HBO would say so what go ahead with this fight, if they cared that much about this particular fight they would try to work out it, but if he is getting a killer offer from CBS/Showtime and they don't really care that much (certainly not enough to match) let it be let him blow off steam thinking he stuck it to us.

It is easier to move forward that way.

Definitely agree with that although I assume HBO did know something was in the works with Arum and Showtime. This could be good. At worse, it'll be interesting.
